Description-

Pink spring blossoms

We are looking forward to them. The pink blossoms of the Japanese cherry tree "Amanogawa". They appear in the spring. It lasts for several months. Luscious blooms. This strikes a beautiful contrast against the dark-green leaves. The leaves fall in autumn. The Prunus serrulata, originally from Japan, grows slowly and takes up little space. That is why the tree is best planted in a small garden or in a sturdy flower pot. The tree will stay smaller in a flower pot. Perfect for a patio, roof terrace or balcony. We deliver the Japanese cherry tree as bare-root stock: just the bare branch and roots. The branch is shipped fresh from the ground. This gives it additional strength, enabling it to branch out faster than trees in a nursery pot. Trees from bare-root stock adapt to their new environment more easily as well. They grow better and they're more economical. These trees should be planted in nutrient-rich, moist soil. In half or full sun. It's best to give them extra water during dry periods.

Prunus serrulata grows best in the open ground. Make sure the root ball is well-moistened by soaking it in a bucket of lukewarm water prior to planting. Prepare a large hole and loosen the soil thoroughly. Put the root ball of the Prunus serrulata at the correct depth in the hole. The top of the root ball should be just slightly below ground level. Place a sturdy tree stake next to it and attach a tree strap around the pole and trunk. Fill the hole with soil and press firmly. Give it plenty of water immediately after planting. Prunus serrulata grows well in fertile garden soil. Improve poor garden soil by mixing in some compost and granulated cow manure. Place your tree in an area with complete sunshine.
Verzorging+
The Prunus serrulata is a strong tree that requires minimal maintenance. In June, you can remove the branches that are too long and misplaced branches and if necessary completely remove branches with a different flower colour. Further pruning is not necessary.
Herkomst+
Prunus serrulata is a slow grower that takes up little space and is therefore suitable for a small garden. It also experiences a very rich bloom. In April and May, its branches get smothered with light pale pink flowers - just imagine them! Prunus serrulata is also an excellent specimen as a solitary. Originally from Japan Prunus serrulata is often called the Japanese flowering cherry.
