Phlox Mixed are perennials that grow best in the ground. Prepare a suitable hole in fertile, moist soil. Improve poor garden soil by mixing in compost and granulated cow manure. Plant the Phlox Mixed at the correct depth in the hole. The top of the root ball should be just below ground level. Fill the hole with soil, press firmly and water immediately after planting. Phlox Mixed grows and blooms well in the sun or partial shade.

In autumn cut the stems down to the base and mulch with compost or well-rotted manure in early spring. Cover the plants with a layer of fallen leaves.
