Description-

Always an indoor sunset!

The yellow leaves on this violet orchid resemble the sun's rays. The small, purple leaf is like a fairytale landscape. No points for guessing how the Miltonia 'Sunset' got its name! This orchid may bloom several times a year. If the plant's health is good, it will bloom year after year. Make sure the roots of the pansy orchid are always moist. In the summer, immerse them in lukewarm rain water once a week. Do this once every ten days in winter, then let the extra water drain out of the flower pot. Autumn is when the pseudo bulbs usually come up. If they feel hard to the touch, the plant needs to stay dormant for 8 to 12 weeks. Put the Miltonia in a light spot, but not in direct sunlight.

Verzorging+
The roots of the Miltonia ‘Sunset’ should be watered regularly preferably with warm rainwater or other calcium free water. In summer the plant needs more water, the best way is to immerse it in warm rainwater. Make sure that the pot has adequate drainage. Add some liquid fertiliser to the watering can once a month. Choose a fertiliser that you would use for flowering plants or tomatoes, with a high potassium content and spray regularly to increase humidity. When flowering is over you can cut off the flower stems. Each tuber only flowers once but then forms at least one new pseudo-bulb. When the plant becomes too large, you can repot into a larger pot. Miltonia ‘Sunset’ can also be propagated by dividing the pseudobulbs and planting a group of at least 3 'tubers' together in a new pot. Use a sharp knife to separate them and plant in special orchid medium which is very light.
Herkomst+
The Miltonia Orchid 'Sunset' is a beautiful orchid, the petals are a light yellow-green colour with a decorative large pink white lip and a cute yellow heart. The result is sublime…and what a success in the living room! Quite an easy houseplant to grow that will attract many admiring glances. The Miltonia Orchid 'Sunset' was obtained by crossing two other miltonia: Miltonia Miltonia regnellii and 'Goodale', which in turn originated by crossing the variety Miltonia clowesii x Miltonia flavescens.
