Planting+

Glamini can be planted in early spring. Plant in well-drained fertile soil, add some sharp sand or gravel to help the rainwater drain away below the corms as Glamini prefer rich, well-drained soil. Place the Glamini corms pointed side, up 7-10 cm deep and approximately 10 cm apart. During winter sprinkle with a little lime. This mini Glamini grows well in a warm, sunny area.

Combining mini gladioli with other plants

This mini gladioli is so striking with its bold coloured petals. You can create special combinations along your garden border. Put a group next to Cosmos 'Flamingo' or Dahlias. A very beautiful, natural effect occurs with ornamental grass combinations, such as Japanese Blood Grass (Imperata cylindrical 'Red Baron'). This small plant is perfect for flower pots and planters. Ivy planted under the glamini flower stems looks very decorative around the edge of a pot.

Care+

Once the Glamini's buds begin to emerge, we advise regular fertilising. The stems are very sturdy and require no support. Completely remove any faded flower stems. These mini Gladiodi prefer a new spot in the garden every year.

Getting your mini Gladioli through the winter

Glamini corms are easy to store over the winter. Carefully dig them up after the first frost. Cut all back to 10 cm and allow the corms to dry off. Prevent mix ups next year – label the corms correctly. Shake off excess soil and store the corms in a box filled with compost or sharp sand in a frost-free area. Plant again in the spring and your mini gladioli will once more reward you with gorgeous flowers.

Extra+

The free flowering Glamini flowers are beautiful. Excellent for cutting and last a long time in a vase. Definitely plant a group of Glamini flowers in your garden. Pick the stems when the bottom-most flower begins to show some colour, preferably early morning. Immediately place the stems in a vase full of lukewarm water and add cut flower food. Thanks to their sturdy stems mini gladioli are also easily used with oasis.
