Our special plastic container is ideal for constructing a small pond. Plant the pond plants in the container preferably in small pond baskets. Line the baskets with a jute cloth and fill with special soil. Plant the root balls in the baskets and top up with soil. Cover everything with the remaining jute and sprinkle with a layer of gravel. Place the baskets on the bottom of the pond. Place the mini pond in a sunny or partially sunny area. The best time to plant the pond up is between May and June.
Your mini pond can be kept on the patio, or balcony, during the autumn. Is it going to freeze? Bring your pond inside. Since the pond is small, the water can freeze during the winter. The pond plants cannot handle that. Keep the plants in a cool, frost-free area during the winter (it is fine if the space is dark). In the spring, you can bring the pond back out after the last overnight frost. Refresh the water and place the plants in fresh pond soil.
