Supplied in a standard nursery pot. You can repot the plant into a larger planter using humus-rich potting compost. Or stand the pot as it is in an attractive planter. If you leave it in the same pot, place it on a saucer. Water is allowed to remain temporarily in the saucer and only water again after it has evaporated or been obsorbed. Keep the soil moist.
Choose a warm place for your Microsorum punctate, light but sheltered from direct sunlight and preferably not below 10° C. The living room is an ideal temperature (22-25 ° C). The plant will require less water in cooler surroundings.
Tropical fern (Microsorum punctata) is a plant native to tropical forests that does not like direct sun, light to full shade is ideal. It likes to be kept humid, do not let the soil dry out and water at least once a week - water on the potting soil not on the leaves.
This fern plant does not like too strong a fertiliser, so we recommend feeding every three weeks with a fertiliser for green plants, halving the dosage suggested on the packaging.
Water less in the winter keeping the plant slightly drier. Wait until spring to resume watering and feeding.
Microsorum punctata is a tropical plant from the jungles of southern Africa, where it even grows on tree branches and rocks in a humid environment (epiphytic). Its glossy irregular fronds illustrate a very decorative plant. These ferns spread horizontally by rhizomes (aerial roots).
Microsorum punctata is classified in the Polypodiaceae (Polypodiaceae).
