Anemone tomentosa is a strong, hardy perennial that thrives well in the garden. Prepare a large hole and loosen the soil with a fork. Improve poor soil by adding some compost and granulated cow manure. Plant your autumn flowering anemone at the correct depth - the top of the root ball should come to just below soil level. Fill the hole with soil, heel well in and water your plant immediately. Anemone tomentosa will grow and flourish in a (part) shade spot in humus-rich, fertile soil.
Anemone tomentosa is a easily grown hardy perennial. Autumn flowering anemones can remain in the same place for years and will continue to give more and more flowers every year. Try to prevent the soil around the roots drying out too much. This plant dies back for the winter so you might like to cover them with a layer of leaf litter for protection. Snip back any foliage in the spring and you will soon see new shoots appear.
Anemone tomentosa is a graceful, autumn flowering plant with pretty large pink clusters of flowers. Each heart of every flower is full of yellow stamens. This sturdy anemone should always be a must in your autumn flowering border. The flowers will appear from August on into October and look lovely in a bouquet too.
