Rosa 'Fortuna'
Bees in the border
Soft pink blooming rose. The 'Fortuna' (Rosa miniature) is the perfect ground cover for large borders. This rose flowers continuously for a long time. Not only that, it attracts bees! Plant 5–7 roses per linear metre. You will receive the rose bare-rooted in sugar cane sacking. This is more environmentally friendly than plastic nursery pots. The roots come fresh from the ground and are already a year old. This gives them additional strength, enabling them to grow faster than they would in a nursery pot. They bloom better, are more affordable and are winter-hardy plants. Plant the rose in the autumn. The flowers bloom from summer until the end of autumn.
Prune the rose every spring. In the summer, remove any wild shoots growing from the stem or roots. Place the plant in full sun or partial shade. Water the rose generously immediately after planting. Give it extra water during dry periods.
If you buy roses in autumn they might not be looking quite as beautiful as usual. The big benefit of planting roses in autumn is that by spring they will be well rooted in the garden and ready to burst into growth.
