Ribes uva-crispa 'Captivator'
Exclusive fruit
An extraordinary fruit! Gooseberries are difficult to find at the supermarket. That's why it's so great to grow the fruit yourself. We can enjoy fresh, sweet berries with the perennial gooseberry 'Captivator' (Ribes uva-crispa). The climbing shrub is grown organically. And, it attracts butterflies and bees. It makes us so happy! The fruit bush blossoms in the spring. That is when it reveals its white flowers. A crop will be ready to harvest from summer onwards in the second year after planting.
Gooseberries require support while growing. Be sure to secure the vines to a climbing base or woven structure. Sufficient light is needed to ensure good growth. The fruit shrub grows best in the sun. Gooseberries thrive in well-drained garden soil. It's best to give the tree extra water during dry spells.
The plant is grown organically. In other words, no chemical pesticides have been used to grow the plant. For a healthy garden!

Planting+
Make sure the root ball of Ribes uva-crispa 'Captivator' is moistened well - place the bush in a bucket of lukewarm water prior to planting. Prepare a wide hole and loosen the soil with a fork. Plant the gooseberry bush at the correct depth in the hole – the top of the root ball should be just slightly below ground level. Refill the hole with soil and press firmly down. Water immediately after planting. Gooseberries thrive in well-drained, fertile soil. Plant the bush in a sunny or partly shaded spot.
Care+
