Planting+
The Avens 'Borisii' makes a wonderful border plant and will thrive in the garden. Prepare a wide hole and loosen the soil with a fork. Improve poor soil by adding a mix of compost and cow manure granules. Plant geum 'Borisii' at the correct depth - the top of the root ball should come to just below ground level. Then fill the hole with soil, heel well in and water immediately. The Avens grows and thrives well in full sun and is also suitable for planting in pots and planters on the patio or decking.
Care+
Geum 'Borisii' is a hardy perennial requiring little or no maintenance. Water regularly to keep the soil (and the roots) moist. Regular deadheading will stimulate and prolong flowering - you will see new buds appear continually.
The plant will die back completely in severe winters but will soon shoot up again in the spring. In spring cut back any old leaves (although not strictly necessary) and you will soon see new shoots appear.
