Provide a mulch compost and fertiliser pellets around the base of the tree in early spring.

Pruning duo-fruit trees

Apricot trees rarely require pruning. Just take of a few older branches on a mature tree every 2 or 3 years. Branches growing from the roots can be taken off entirey. The plum will need an annual or biannual prune but won't need much. Best time to prune is April-Septemter. Cut all withered branches and those growing vertically, right back after you've picked all the fruit and try to keep the crown of the tree nice and open. You can also try bending those vertical branches back to point downwards - it will produce more fruit this way. Just tie them in.
