Prostrate Juniper is an excellent ground cover plant
Prostrate Juniper is a very flat-growing evergreen plant and therefore makes a great ground cover. These shrubs can be planted instead of a lawn and can also be planted on a slope. It can even look attractive in a planter.
Prostrate Juniper is one of the easiest growing garden plants and requires minimal maintenance. In winter or early in spring, condition poor soil with some compost or cow manure to ensure a good growth. Pruning is not necessary.
The evergreen foliage of Prostrate Juniper forms a dense mat about 10-20 cm high. You do not have to mow and you can even walk on Juniperus. It is the perfect substitute for a lawn! Heavy watering is not recommended.
