Chokeberries - Organic - Hardy plant
Aronia rubina
A very healthy berry
These organically grown chokeberries (Aronia) produce white flowers in the spring and then reveal these very healthy, black berries from August to October. Even the leaves of the chokeberry are attractive. They turn yellow, red, and purple in the autumn. Chokeberries are about the same size as blueberries. These fruits taste great when dried, juiced, or made into a jam.
If you buy deciduous shrubs in autumn they might not be looking quite as beautiful as usual. The big benefit of planting shrubs in autumn is that by spring they will be well rooted in the garden and ready to burst into growth.
