Carnivorous pitcher plant Sarracenia 'Farnhanii' green-red-white - Marsh plant, waterside plant

Sarracenia 'Farnhanii'
Exciting plant
An exciting addition to the pond. The carnivorous trumpet pitcher 'Farnhamii' (Sarracenia). The plant lures insects with its attractive smell. Insects fall into the funnel-shaped tube and can't escape. The aquatic plant is a waterside and marsh plant. We can plant the plant along the edge (bank) of our pond. Or we can plant the pitcher plant up to 40 cm deep in the pond. We can plant the carnivorous plant all year round. The plant blossoms in the spring.
We prune the plant slightly to shape it with a pruning shear. We remove old leaves and dirt. To encourage good growth, we add minerals to the pond water and ensure that the water's hardness level (pH value and calcium to magnesium ratio) is maintained. The aquatic plant loves sun and partial shade.
An extraordinary and decorative garden!

Planting+

The trumpet pitcher plant is a unique house plant which is supplied in a pot, but if you are going to transplant the following applies: preferably choose a wide, shallow flower pot with holes in the base. Put the soil in the pot and place the root ball of the Sarracenia at the correct depth. Fill up with soil and press firmly down. Water the trumpet pitcher plant immediately after planting. Place the pot in a bright, warm, light place, but protect the leaves from direct sunlight. Stand in a saucer that is always filled with water during the growing season. When the humidity is low make sure that the soil remains damp.
Many carnivorous cup plants can have cope with some cold and can therefore be stood outside. Some may even be in a 'marsh' in the open ground and overwinter!

Care+

The trumpet pitcher plant does not like lime and prefers to be watered with rainwater or tap water that has been boiled and cooled. Put the water in the dish and not on the plant itself. The soil can be constantly moist since it originally grows in swamp-like areas. Place a saucer under the pot to retain a constant supply of water.

It isn't necessary to give plant food, in fact, too much food is bad for this plant. In winter, keep it in a dry, cool area. You may notice trumpet pitcher plant lose some of its leaves, but it'll be up and running again in the spring!

Extra+

Small insects that are trapped by the trumpet pitcher plant will not be able to escape and will eventually drown in the juice that attracted them there in the first place. They will then be slowly digested by the plant over the course of about 10 days. This is a continuous process. You could treat your plant to the occasional dead fly too!
