The Calathea 'Triostar' is a real jungle plant and really does not like full sun! The Calathea 'Triostar' likes a high humidity, so spray the leaves regularly with rainwater to keep them nice and fresh looking. If the air is too dry, you will see the edges of the leaves dry out and turn brown.. . In the summer keep the compost moist and as ‘Triostar’ does not like to be fertilised too much use a weak solution. Half the dosage suggested on dry or liquid fertiliser packets.
Due to the 'sleep mode' of the leaves, this plant is also referred to as the prayer plant (folded hands). Calatheas are members of the Marantaceae family. The plant will eventually show discrete flowers.
