Calathea 'Triostar'

Calathea 'Triostar'
Popular houseplant
Calathea 'Triostar' is a stunning houseplant which feels quite at home in the corner of a room out of direct sunlight! The highly decorative foliage appears to 'sleep' in the evenings – the large leaves face upwards which give the plant quite a pleasing look! The Calathea ‘Triostar’ comes especially recommended due to the multi coloured leaves!
Calatheas also help to purify the air!
Your home can exude a number of quite harmful gas particles (see details) but this plant captures them in its leaves and gives you pure oxygen in return! By using these plants in the home the climate is better for everyone.
We offer products from the Air so Pure range. This company has developed a number of air-purifying plants for use in the home, schools and offices. Treat yourself to purified and humid air from one of these lovely plants.

These plants are delivered in a standard nursery pot. If you prefer, you can place the pot as a whole in a decorative pot. Otherwise a saucer under the pot is very convenient as the excess water can be allowed to remain in the saucer. Water again only when saucer is empty.

Care+

The Calathea 'Triostar' is a real jungle plant and really does not like full sun! The Calathea 'Triostar' likes a high humidity, so spray the leaves regularly with rainwater to keep them nice and fresh looking. If the air is too dry, you will see the edges of the leaves dry out and turn brown.. . In the summer keep the compost moist and as ‘Triostar’ does not like to be fertilised too much use a weak solution. Half the dosage suggested on dry or liquid fertiliser packets.

Extra+

Due to the 'sleep mode' of the leaves, this plant is also referred to as the prayer plant (folded hands). Calatheas are members of the Marantaceae family. The plant will eventually show discrete flowers.
