8x Hyacinth Hyacinthus - Mix organic pink-blue

Hyacinthus orientalis
Organically grown. All natural.
All natural. That's what these hyacinth bulbs are. Carefully and organically cultivated by the grower. Using 100% natural flower bulbs means that we're also putting 100% nature back into the soil. Plant them in the autumn before the first ground frost. And let nature take its course. And then? Then the first flowers will appear in spring. It is more than worth the wait.
This mix of hyacinths (Hyacinthus) contains beautiful, richly flowering varieties. Hyacinths not only add colour to your garden in spring, they also provide that lovely scent of spring.
This mix contains:
  • 4x Hyacinth 'Blue Star'
  • 4x Hyacinth 'Pink Pearl'
The plant is grown organically. In other words, no chemical pesticides have been used to grow the plant. For a healthy garden!

How we measure

We measure the diameter of the bulb. A bigger bulb contains more food for longer flowering and a stronger plant.

Planting+

As soon as possible after receiving the hyacinth mix bulbs they can be planted in the garden or in a flower pot. The bulbs are not frost resistant, so plant them before the frost arrives. Plant the bulbs in a hole that is three times as deep as the height of the bulbs. For example a bulb of 5 cm should be planted in a 15 cm deep hole. The planting distance between the hyacinth bulbs is about 15 cm. Loosen the soil well and plant the bulbs with the point facing upwards. Refill the hole and avoid walking over the soil. Plant the flower bulbs one by one with a small trowel or with a special bulb planter. For larger groups, make a larger hole to accommodate more bulbs. Hyacinths grow best in loose, well-drained soil in a spot in full sun or partial shade.

Hyacinths in the garden

A large group of mixed hyacinths will look amazing. Plant the hyacinths in groups of at least 10 bulbs, or divide about 30 to 50 bulbs evenly over a flower bed. These hyacinths with firm stems also grow well in a flower pot or in a patio planter, where they can be planted closer together. Make sure you use fresh potting compost and put a layer of gravel or hydro granules at the bottom of the pot. To protect the bulbs grown in a pot against frost, move the pot to a frost-free area or cover it with bubble wrap. Water in dry periods.

Care+

The flowers of the hyacinth are at their best in the first year. That’s why we recommend each year adding new and extra bulbs to make your borders and pots even more colourful. Hyacinths grow best in nutritious, well drained soil in an area in full sun or partial shade. To protect the bulbs grown in a pot against frost, move the pot to a frost-free area or cover it with bubble wrap. Water in dry periods.

Extra+

Our special Mixed Hyacinths consists of the most beautiful colours. The flowers smell delightful, these hyacinths fill the whole garden with their lovely perfume. Bring spring into the home by picking a few hyacinths for a vase in the living room. If you are mixing the hyacinths with other flowers in the vase, refresh the water every two days. Did you know that the hyacinth is related to the asparagus? As some people may be allergic to hyacinths it is advised to wear gardening gloves when handling them.
