As soon as possible after receiving the Cyclamen hederifolium corms they can be planted in the ground approximately 5 cm deep. If not they must be kept in a frost-free area. Corms planted in a flower pot are not usually frost resistant. Loosen the soil well and plant the corms with the rounded side at the bottom. Refill the planting hole and avoid walking over the soil. The cyclamen grow best in humus-rich, well-drained soil in a sheltered position, under trees and shrubs is an ideal spot for the cyclamen. They are slow to establish but well worth it when the delicate small flowers appear. Cyclamen in the garden The small flowers of the Cyclamen hederifolium look beautiful when planted in large groups. Try growing them between other plants, such as the Pulmonaria or plant groups of Cyclamen under deciduous shrubs. The colouring and the cuteness of the cyclamen complements most flowers and plants in the garden.

The Cyclamen hederifolium corms are suitable for naturalizing and can remain in the same spot for years. For a healthy growth, we recommend sprinkling Bakker's flower bulb fertilizer around the base of the leaves immediately after the flowering period. This will ensure a rich flowering for the following year. The Cyclamen may need protection during the winter with a layer of compost. Water more during dry periods.

Cyclamen's small flowers look their best planted in larger groups so do plant quite a numbers together. Cyclamen looks great in amongst low growing ground cover plants like perhaps Pulmonaria. Or try your cyclamen under deciduous shrubs.
