5x Phlox - Mix "Phlox it up" - Bare-rooted

Phlox paniculata

5x Phlox - Mix "Phlox it up" - Bare-rooted

Phlox paniculata
An all-phlox mix. Fresh from the garden.
This mix is perfect for attracting bees and butterflies. Its name comes from the Greek word for "flame". And this flower is definitely on fire. Enormous, vibrant flowers sit atop 80-90 cm stems. They have a wonderful fragrance. The phlox has it all.

You will receive the phlox as bare-root stock in sugar cane sacking. This is more environmentally friendly than plastic nursery pots. The roots are shipped fresh from the ground. They are already one year old. This gives them additional strength, enabling them to grow faster than they would in a nursery pot. Plants grown from bare-root stock also adapt to their new environment more easily. They flower better and they are more economical. Bare-root stock plants grow when it becomes warmer. They are winter-hardy perennials. They can be planted at any time, provided that the ground is not frozen. The phlox starts flowering in the summer. This lasts for months.

The "Phlox it up" mix can be planted in flower pots or separately around the garden, in half or full sun. Water the phlox regularly after planting. They will take root better that way.

This mix contains:
  • 1x Phlox "Europa"
  • 1x Phlox "Laura"
  • 1x Phlox "Lilac Time"

Phlox paniculata is a perennial that grows best in the ground. Prepare a suitable hole in fertile, moist soil. Improve poor garden soil by mixing in compost and granulated cow manure. Plant the phlox at the correct depth in the hole. The top of the root ball should be just below ground level. Fill the hole with soil, press firmly and water immediately after planting. Phlox grows and blooms well in the sun or partial shade.
Phlox Mixed are easy-to-grow perennials that can remain in the same spot for several years. Be sure to prevent the soil around the roots from drying out. Dry soil is not well tolerated. Phlox Mixed grow well in moist soil but can survive in regular garden soil. Deadhead to prolong the flowering season. In autumn cut the stems down to the base and mulch with compost or well-rotted manure in early spring. Cover the plants with a layer of fallen leaves. In spring, you will soon see new shoots appearing above the ground.
