Planting+
Tanacetum coccineum grow best in the open garden. Prepare a suitable hole in nutritious, well-drained soil, avoid wet heavy soil. Improve poor garden soil by mixing in compost, and granulated cow manure. Plant the Painted Daisies at the appropriate depth in the hole. The top of the root ball should be just slightly below ground level. Fill the hole with soil and press firmly. Water immediately after planting. Tanacetum coccineum grow and thrive in an area with complete sunshine.
Care+
Tanacetum coccineum is an easy-to-grow perennial that requires minimal maintenance. Make sure the soil around its roots does not dry out, although too much water can be harmful to your daisies. Remove the faded flower stems to encourage a good growth. In winter, the stems above the ground will die back. Cover the plants in winter with a layer of fallen leaves. In the spring, cut off all their leaves. Soon enough, there will be some new shoots growing above the ground.
Specifics+
The flowers of Tanacetum coccineum have a cheerful yellow centre. Painted daisies make good cutting flowers that last a long time in a vase. It is best to pick the flowers early in the morning. Remove the bottom leaves and place the stems directly into a vase full of lukewarm water with cut flower food. This plant was formerly known as Chrysanthemum.
