Planting+
Gypsophila grows best in an open garden. Prepare a large hole and loosen the soil with a fork. Impprove clay garden soil by mixing with some sharp sand. Lay the rhizome of Baby's Breath (Gypsophila paniculata) sideways in the hole approximately 7 cm deep. Refill the hole with soil and press firmly. Water immediately after planting. Gypsophila paniculata grows and thrives well in an area with complete sunshine in well-drained, lime rich soil.
Care+
Baby's Breath is an easy-to-grow perennial that requires minimal maintenance. The soil is allowed to be on the dry side. Stem rot may be a problem in wet conditions with poor drainage. The stems above the ground will die back in the winter. Cover this plant in winter with a layer of fallen leaves. In spring cut all of its stems off and soon there will be some new shoots visible above the ground.
