Description-

Pure daylilies. Fresh from the garden.

The Hemerocallis is also called a daylily. This a highly unusual plant. A daylily unveils one flower each day. From then on, the plant produces new flowers every day. That's where the nickname "daylily" comes from. This mix contains 3 daylilies in different colours: You will receive the Hemerocallis as bare-root stock in sugar cane sacking. This is more environmentally friendly than plastic nursery pots. The roots are shipped fresh from the ground. They are already one year old. This gives them additional strength, enabling them to grow faster than they would in a nursery pot. Plants grown from bare-root stock also adapt to their new environment more easily. They flower better and they are more economical. Bare-root stock plants grow when it becomes warmer. They are winter-hardy perennials. They can be planted at any time, provided that the ground is not frozen. The Hemerocallis blooms from June until the first frost. Hemerocallis does best in full or half sun. They can be planted in flower pots or around the garden. They do especially well along pond banks. Daylilies love moist soil. Give them extra water during dry spells.

Planting+
The daylily thrives in the garden. Prepare a large hole in good, loose soil. Improve your garden soil by adding compost. Plant the Hemerocallis at the correct depth in the hole - the top of the roots should be just slightly below surface level. Refill the hole with soil and press firmly down. Water your daylily immediately after planting. This plant thrives in full sun but will also tolerate partial shade.
Care+
Make sure the soil surrounding the Hemerocallis (mixed) does not become too dry. This daylily grows well in fairly moist, well-drained soil, such as along the edge of a garden pond. Remove the dead flowers and the seed pods to encourage more blooms. The daylily is a very strong garden plant and can remain in the same spot for several years. Give it an annual winter mulch of compost and garden fertiliser around the base.
Specifics+
Hemerocallis (mixed) flowers are not only beautiful to admire, but they are also edible! In Asian countries, the daylily flower buds are even considered a delicacy! The name daylily represents the fact that these lily-like flowers only open for one day. However, since there are many flower buds on its stems, the plant seems to be overflowing with flowers during the summer.
