The bulbs can be planted in open ground or in a pot. Potted bulbs aren't frost hardy, so bring the pot indoors or protect the plant with bubble wrap. Space the bulbs out when planting in open ground. The distance between plants is three times the width of the bulb. Plant the bulb the depth of three times the bulb's height. Plant the bulbs in full sun or partial shade. Water the bulb immediately after planting. Don't water it until the soil feels dry to the touch. The bulbs come in organic packaging. Made of 100% natural materials and 100% recyclable!
All our flower bulbs have the Holland Selection A quality mark, and come with a 100% guarantee that they will grow and bloom. You can be certain that the flower bulbs will grow.

Plant your Allium ‘Fantasia’ mixed bulbs in the garden, in planters or flower pots as soon as possible after receipt. Do store the Allium bulbs frost-free until planted. Pots also do not generally withstand frost. Place the bulbs in a hole that is 3x as deep as the height of the bulb – a 5 cm bulb therefore goes in a 15 cm hole.
Planting distance for these Alliums is about 25 cm. Loosen the soil with a fork and plant roots down. Refill the hole and avoid walking over the planting area. Ornamental Onion Allium ‘Fantasia’ mixed thrives in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun.
Allium ‘Fantasia’ mixed in the garden
Allium ‘Fantasia’ mixed are tall ornamental onions that look wonderful in borders and beds. The more you plant, the better the effect so plant the Allium in groups of five between lower growing plants in your beds. Or, divide 10-20 bulbs evenly over the border or bed. Alliums look great together with low summer bloomers and leafy plants like the Hosta, lilies and roses.
Allium ‘Fantasia’ mixed bulbs can stay planted in the same place for years on end. Remove the overblown flowers and stems when they turn brown to ensure that all the energy goes back into the bulb. Only remove Allium ‘Fantasia’ mixed leaves after they have turned yellow. We advise feeding the bulbs with Bakker's bulb fertiliser immediately after flowering to encourage good growth. With all this good care, you can be assured of profuse flowering in the following year. Try to avoid the soil being too wet, especially in the winter months as this is not well tolerated.
Each stem of the Allium ‘Fantasia’ mixed is tall and strong enough to carry the large dense, purple, white or lilac flower heads - a wonderful combination! Even long after flowering, the Allium ‘Fantasia’ mixed is very decorative and the stems can be dried – hang them upside down in a well-ventilated spot.
