Planting+
The ideal time to plant begonias is in the spring, once the frost period has finished. Plant the tubers with their concave side facing upwards, about 20 cm apart from each other, and cover them with a thin layer of soil. Do you want to enjoy the colours of your begonias earlier? If so, plant the tubers in planters in February or March before putting them outside in the garden. The warm temperature of your house will allow your Double Begonias to bloom earlier. This way, you can admire them for much longer. The young plants do not like to be subjected to too much sunshine so to begin with choose carefully where they are placed. Begonias are also great in borders and planters on the patio or decking.
Care+
Double Begonias have tubers that can be preserved throughout the winter. We recommend lifting the tubers from the ground when the first frost is predicted. Keep them in a dry place during the winter. In spring, once there are no more night frosts, you can plant the begonias back out in the garden. Soon you will be enjoying the colourful flowers.
