Colours and fragrances

A lovely mix. The flowers of the freesia are all the colours of the rainbow. They look great in the garden, but also look terrific in a pot on the balcony. Plant the bulbs in the spring. The flowers bloom in the summer.
Space the bulbs out when planting. The distance between plants is three times the width of the bulb. Plant the bulb the depth of three times the bulb's height. Put the freesia in a sunny spot. Water the tuber immediately after planting. Then give extra water in dry periods. The flower bulbs come in organic packaging. 100% degradable and contributes to a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.
All our flower bulbs have the A quality mark of the Holland Selection and come with a 100% guarantee that they will grow and bloom. You can be certain that the flower bulbs will grow.

Planting
In spring, plant the freesia mix approximately 2-4 cm deep and about 10 cm apart. Watch out for night frosts. Plant in loose soil and choose a spot with complete sunshine. These pretty flowers look great grown in a flower pot or planter. Plant the bulbs about 5-7 cm apart. Use fresh potting compost when planting and ensure that the pot has good drainage. Double-flowered freesias planted in a pot Fragrant garden freesias are great for the patio or decking. Plant a large amount in a flower pot, planter or patio container. The flowers will bloom more freely if the planter is placed in a sunny area. Garden freesias combine well with low growing flowers such as the moss rose (Portulaca Grandiflora).
Care
Water your garden freesias regularly, so that the soil around the roots does not dry out. However, this plant does not like when the soil is too wet! Deadhead the freesias regularly to promote a second flowering. For an extra rich flowering, we recommend adding plant food to the irrigation water on a regular basis during the summer. The freesia bulbs are not very hardy and therefore cannot survive throughout the winter.
Extra
Garden freesias are part of the iris family and native to South Africa. The fragrant flowers are known for their cut flower value. They look so lovely and last a long time in a vase. A group of Garden Freesias should definitely not be missing in your garden. Pick the flowers preferably early in the morning. Put the stems directly into a vase of lukewarm water containing cut flower food.
