Colour & cheer
One moment there's nothing to be seen, the next your garden is full of colour and warmth! The crocuses (Crocus) are very easy to look after. That's a great quality to have. The crocuses have even more impact if they are planted in large swathes. Plant the tubers in the autumn. In well-drained soil. The flowers bloom in the spring.
The tubers can be planted in open ground or in a pot. Potted tubers aren't frost hardy, so bring the pot indoors or protect the plant with bubble wrap. Space the tubers out when planting in open ground. The distance between plants is three times the width of the tuber. Plant the tuber the depth of three times the tuber's height. Plant the tubers in full sun or partial shade. Water the tuber immediately after planting. Don't water it until the soil feels dry to the touch. The flower bulbs come in plant-based, organic packaging. Made of 100% natural, plant-based materials and 100% recyclable!
All of our flower bulbs have the Holland Selection A quality mark, and come with a 100% guarantee that they will grow and bloom. You can be certain that the flower bulbs will grow.

As soon as possible after receiving the Botanical Crocus corms, they can be planted in the garden, flower pot or planter. Plant the small corms in a planting hole that is three times as deep as the height of the corms. For example a corm of 2 cm should be planted in a 6 cm deep hole. The planting distance between them is about 3 cm. Loosen the soil well and plant the crocus with the point facing upwards. Refill the planting hole and avoid walking over the soil. Plant the corms one by one with a small trowel. For larger areas, make a larger planting hole and plant extra corms. The botanical crocus mix grows best in loose, well-drained soil in a spot in full sun or partial shade. The more crocus you plant the greater effect this spring bloomer will have. Plant the crocus in groups of at least 25, or divide about 25 to 50 corms evenly over the garden border, flower bed or even over the lawn.

Botanical Crocus in a pot

The botanical crocus mix grows well in a flower pot or a patio container. Make sure you use fresh potting compost and put a layer of gravel or hydro granules at the bottom of the pot. Place the corms in a planting hole three times as deep as the height of the corms. A corm of 2 cm should be planted in a 6 cm deep hole and 2 cm apart. To protect the corms grown in a pot against frost, move the pot to a frost-free area or cover it with bubble wrap. Water during dry periods.

Botanical Crocus are excellent for naturalising. Once planted the corms can be left undisturbed in subsequent years. They will produce more flowers each year, creating a glorious natural feature in the garden. After flowering, leave the foliage to die down naturally and cut back when it has turned yellow. They look great planted in the lawn, but you can only mow in the spring after the leaves have turned yellow. The following spring the Botanical Crocus will flower in greater abundance.

The crocus is one of the first messengers of spring in the garden. The charming flowers cheer up your garden or patio early in spring. This low cormous plant flourishes equally as well in a flower pot or patio pot. The Botanical Crocus have smaller flowers and form a glorious palette of mixed colours in white, yellow and purple. Take a closer look into the small heart to admire the thick yellow-orange stamens. The yellow crocus has a distinguished striped pattern on the outside of the petals. Crocus survive well against the snow and the cold weather.
