Planting
What do I need?

• Bucket
• Trowel
• Compost or cow manure pellets

The bellflower is a perennial that thrives in open soil. Dig a spacious hole for planting and till the soil well. You can improve poor-quality soil by mixing in some compost and cow manure pellets. Place the root ball of the Campanula at the correct height in the planting hole. The top side of the root ball should be just below ground level. Fill the hole up with potting soil and press firmly. Water the Campanula immediately after planting. The bellflower grows and blooms best in a location with full sun or half shade in loose, nutrient-rich soil.
Care
What do I need?

• Watering can
• Plant food
• Shears
• Cow manure pellets

Regularly water your Campanula, because the soil around the roots cannot dry out. Regularly trim stems of the bellflower that are finished blooming, because this will encourage them to blossom again. For extra rich flowering in Campanulas, Bakker recommends regularly adding plant food to the water in the summer. Cut away unsightly leaves in the spring.
